Each year, the Street Smarts Program organizes special events for its contests and programs, including the Annual Street Smarts Media Kick-Off Event, Storybook Poster Contest Awards Ceremony and the Street Smarts Video Premiere at the Danville International Children's Film Festival.

In addition to these events, Street Smarts, as part of its community outreach efforts, participates in special events each year by providing traffic safety educational materials and activities to the general public. These events include bike rodeos, summer concerts and other special events.

In 2008, Street Smarts will be giving away free bicycle safety gear at special events. These include bike bells, bike flags, bicycle lights, water bottles with traffic safety tips, patch and lever kits and more!
