WHY: The community is invited to attend the world premiere of Finalist Videos for the 3rd Annual Street Smarts “Be Reel” Video Contest
The third annual Street Smarts “Be Reel” Video Contest world premiere showing at the Danville International Children’s Film Festival will showcase the creative talents of eleven middle school teams in the San Ramon Valley.
The video contest was created to provide a voice for local middle school students to promote traffic safety by creating 60-second public service announcements on the traffic safety topics of driving safely in bad weather and crosswalk safety.
The nine finalist videos will premiere on Saturday, May 17, 2008 – 6:00 p.m. at the Village Theatre in Downtown Danville. The student filmmakers will be available to talk about their videos and answer questions.
STREET SMARTS, a local partnership involving the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, Town of Danville, City of San Ramon, Contra Costa County and the San Ramon Valley Council of PTAs, is a traffic safety education campaign.
